Accuvac Reagent Set measures dissolved oxygen in boiler feedwater.
Accuvac Reagent Set measures dissolved oxygen in the range of 6-800 µg/L O₂ for spectrophotometers and 10-1000 µg/L O₂ for colorimeters in boiler feedwater. The product uses indigo carmine method (8316). Article 2501025 may be used to conduct analysis of 25 tests and can be evaluated using all Hach spectrophotometers except DR820, PC II.
Before you start take into account the following:
- It is recommended to collect the sample from the water stream to receive accurate testing results.
- It is required to perform sample analysis instantly after collection.
- It is not recommended to preserve the sample for later evaluation.
Procedure for O₂ evaluation
Start program 446 Oxygen (Dis LR AV). Add 10mL of the boiler feedwater sample to prepare the blank. After that evaluate the blank content using Hach instrument. Fill the AccuVac Ampul with collected sample, insert into the the cell holder and push READ. The required measurement wavelength is 610nm. See manual for additional information regarding consumables and replacement items.
Summary of method
The vacuum-sealed reagent from the AccuVac Ampul reacts with dissolved oxygen, coloring the yellow solution blue. The blue coloration is proportional to the concentration of the dissolved oxygen in the boiler feedwater sample. The color change is required to be measured photometrically.
