Required for fast and accurate phenols analysis in various water samples.
Phenols Test Kit determines the concentration of phenols in the range of 0 - 4.0 mg/L in water samples. The kit uses Color Disc/ 4-aminoantipyrine method. Model PL-1 can be used to conduct 100 tests. The smallest increments are 0.02 and 0.1 mg/L. Phenols Test Set includes all reagents and apparatus in a sturdy carrying case for analysis in the field.
Phenols Test Set includes:
- EDTA Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 700599)
- Hardness 1 Buffer Solution (p/n 42426)
- Phenol Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 2481569)
- Potassium Persulfate Powder Pillows (p/n 2084769)
- Phenols Color Disc, 0-4 mg/L (p/n 9263100)
- Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
- 18 mm Plastic Viewing Tubes, with caps (p/n 4660004)
Procedure for Phenols evaluation
Before starting analysis:
- It is recommended to rinse tubes with the sample before the analysis.
- It is required to rinse tubes the with deionized water after the analysis.
- It is necessary to filter samples containing turbidity.
Testing procedure
Perform the filtration procedure for turbid samples (see the manual).
After filtration perform the following steps:
- Fill two tubes to the top line with sample.
- Pour EDTA Reagent Powder Pillow to each tube and swirl to mix each tube until the reagent is dissolved.
- Pipet 15 drops of Hardness 1 Buffer Solution to each tube and swirl to mix. Install the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box.
- Add Phenol Reagent Powder Pillow for non-extraction method to the second tube, put the cap and swirl to mix until the reagent is dissolved.
- Pour the content of Potassium Persulfate Powder Pillow for phosphonate to the second tube and with the cap on mix the tube content. Insert the second tube into the color comparator box.
- Set the color comparator box in front of the light. Turn the color disc to match the color and read testing results in mg/L in the scale window.
