Required for nitrite measurement in water samples by Color Disc/ Ferrous sulphate method.
Nitrogen/Nitrite Color Disc Test Set is required for nitrite analysis in water samples. The set performs nitrite determination in the following ranges: 0 - 80 mg/L NO₂- and 0 - 1600 mg/L NO₂-. Model NI-6 uses Color Disc/ Ferrous sulphate method. Nitrogen/Nitrite Color Disc Test Kit may be used for 100 samples. The smallest increments are 2 and 40 mg/L NO₂-. Get fast and precise testing results with the easy-to-carry test set.
Nitrogen/Nitrite Color Disc Test Set contains:
- NitriVer 2 Nitrite Reagent Powder Pillows (p/n 181369)
- Nitrite Color Disc, 0-80 mg/L, 0-1600 mg/L (p/n 9262900)
- Color Comparator Box (p/n 173200)
- Glass Dropper, 0.5- and 1.0-mL marks (p/n 1419705)
- 18 mm Glass Viewing Tubes (p/n 173006)
- Stoppers for 18-mm Glass Tubes and AccuVac Ampuls (p/n 173106)
- Deionized Water (p/n 27242)
Procedure for NO₂- measurement
Before you start take into account the following:
- Use sunlight or lamp as the source of light to match the color with the color comparator box.
- Multiply the testing results by 1.5 to record the testing results as mg/L NaNO₂.
- Multiply the testing results by 0.3 to record the testing results as mg/L N.
Testing procedure
For determination of nitrite in the range between 0 and 80 mg/L NO₂-, fill two tubes to the 5 mL line with sample. Install the first tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Add NitriVer 2 Reagent Powder Pillow to the second tube, install the stopper and shake to mix. Wait 5 minutes till the green-brown color appears. Insert the second tube into the color comparator box analyze the sample.
Read the instructions for additional information regarding nitrite analysis in the range from 0 to 1600 mg/L NO₂-.
