146700 Manganese Test Kit, Model MN-5

Manganese Test Set measures 0 - 3.0 mg/L Mn in water and other liquids. The set uses Color Disc/Cold Periodate method. Model MN-5 can be used to conduct 100 tests. The smallest increment is 0.1 Mn. Manganese Test Kit is frequently used in the beverage, paper and textile industries, in dye production and food processing.

Procedure for Mn determination

Before starting analysis:

• It is recommended to rinse the tube with sample before the measurement.
• It is required to rinse the tube with deionized water after the measurement.
• It is necessary to digest the sample with heat and acid to determine total manganese concentration in the sample.

Testing procedure

Insert the long-path adapter in the color comparator box. Add the sample into the tube to the top line. Put the tube into the left opening of the color comparator box. Fill the bottle to the shoulder with sample. Pour the content of Citrate Buffer Powder Pillow for Manganese and swirl to mix. Add Sodium Periodate Powder Pillow for Manganese and mix the content of the bottle. After 2 minutes, if manganese is present in the sample, pink color will appear as the result of the reaction. Analyze testing results within 8 minutes. Fill the second tube to the top line with the pretreated sample. Install the second tube into the color comparator box, put the color comparator box below the source of light and turn the color disc to identify the color match. Read the result in mg/L in the scale window.
