Reagent Powder Pillows measures ferrous iron in water, wastewater, seawater, brine solutions, produced waters and hydraulic fracturing waters ин 1,10 Phenanthroline method.
Article 103769 measures ferrous iron 0.02-3.00 mg/L Fe²+ in water, wastewater, seawater and other liquids. Ferrous Iron Reagent Powder Pillows uses 1,10 Phenanthroline method (8146). Reagent Powder Pillows can be used to conduct analysis of 100 tests.
Before starting analysis:
- It is recommended to collect the sample in clean glass or plastic bottles with tight-fitting caps.
- It is necessary to prevent the sample agitation and exposure to air.
- It is required to conduct the sample analysis immediately after collection.
Procedure for Fe²+ measurement
Run program 255 Iron, Ferrous. Fill the cell with 10mL of water, wastewater, seawater or other liquid sample to prepare the blank. Mix 25mL of sample and the content of Ferrous Iron Reagent Powder Pillow in the mixing cylinder, An orange color develops if ferrous iron is present in the sample. After 3 minutes, insert the blank cell in the instrument and press ZERO. Fill another cell with 10mL of the pretreated sample and insert the sample cell into the cell holder. Perform the determination of ferrous iron at 510nm with spectrophotometer or 520nm with colorimeters.
Summary of method
1,10-phenanthroline indicator in the Ferrous Iron Reagent enters into reaction with ferrous iron (Fe2+) in the sample forming orange color in proportion to the iron concentration. Ferric iron (Fe3+) does not react. The ferric iron concentration may be determined by subtracting the ferrous iron concentration from the results of total iron test.
Please note: The samples cannot be preserved for later analysis.
