This medium provides a defined nutrient environment optimized for the PL expression system. The PL promoter is a powerful, regulated promoter from bacteriophage lambda. In specific E. coli host strains, expression from this promoter can be tightly controlled by the composition of the medium. Induction Base Medium contains Casamino acids to provide essential amino acids and Ammonium chloride as a nitrogen source.
