1532 Condalab

King B Medium (Pseudomonas F Agar) ISO is a dehydrated culture medium designed to stimulate the production of fluorescent pigments by Pseudomonas species. It is widely used in microbiology laboratories for differentiation and presumptive identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and related organisms in water, environmental and food samples, in accordance with ISO methods.

Add to bag

King B Medium (Pseudomonas F Agar) ISO (catalogue number 1532) is a dehydrated culture medium formulated to promote the production of fluorescent pigments, such as pyoverdin, by Pseudomonas species. The medium is especially suitable for the differentiation and presumptive identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and other fluorescent pseudomonads.

The formulation contains peptone, glycerol and magnesium salts, which enhance pigment synthesis and facilitate visual detection of fluorescence under ultraviolet light. After incubation, typical Pseudomonas colonies exhibit yellow-green fluorescence, allowing rapid screening and differentiation from non-fluorescent microorganisms.

Advantages

  • Promotes strong fluorescence of Pseudomonas species for easy visual differentiation.
  • Suitable for presumptive identification of Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
  • Compliant with ISO recommendations for microbiological analysis.
  • Applicable to water, food and environmental microbiology.
