pH-indicator strips MQuant are non-bleeding specialty strips designed for the rapid and precise measurement of pH values in the slightly acidic to alkaline range (pH 5.0 – 10.0).
These MQuant® pH strips are manufactured using a unique technology where the indicator dyes are covalently bound to the reagent paper. This "non-bleeding" feature prevents the dyes from leaching into the sample, allowing the strips to be left in the liquid for indefinite periods without contaminating the medium. This makes them ideal for testing weakly buffered or turbid solutions. The color scale is calibrated using certified buffer solutions, ensuring high accuracy and easy readability. The graduation of 0.5 pH units provides sufficient resolution for most laboratory, industrial, and environmental applications.
Advantages
- Non-bleeding design: Indicator dyes do not contaminate the sample.
- Suitability for turbid or colored liquids: The sample can be rinsed off the strip without affecting the result.
- High accuracy: Calibrated against NIST-traceable certified buffer solutions.
- Ease of use: Rapid results with a clear, high-contrast color scale included in the pack.
- Long shelf life: Stable when stored in the original airtight container away from light and fumes.
Instructions for use
Dip the indicator zone of the strip into the measurement medium for approximately 1–3 seconds. Remove the strip and, if necessary, briefly rinse the reaction zones with distilled water (especially if the sample is highly colored or turbid). Immediately compare the color of the reaction zones with the color scale on the box to determine the pH value. For weakly buffered solutions, leave the strip in the liquid for a longer period (up to 1 minute) until the color stabilizes.
