Yeast Extract Agar (YEA) is a nutrient-rich medium designed for the enumeration of culturable microorganisms in water, including drinking water, bottled water, and various types of processed water. This formulation is strictly compliant with the ISO 6222 standard, which specifies a method for the enumeration of microorganisms by colony count at two different incubation temperatures.

Yeast Extract Agar is a highly standardized, non-selective medium that supports the growth of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts, and molds.
